My Work in Nicaragua

MY PRAYER FOR THE CHILDREN

I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.
Jeremiah 24:7.

So the children can know Him, the children
first of all need to know Jesus
as their Savior from Sin
This is always my first priority in every class.

MY FIRST 12 YEARS I WORKED FULL TIME IN
THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN MANAGUA

Each year I typically went to 3-4 public schools per year,
teaching the Bible in 12-14 classrooms per week like this one
and evangelizing on average 600-700 students per year.

Students from Raphaela School had invited me
to their end of school year celebration. At the
end they gave me some hand made gifts!

Training Courses for teachers

FIRST OFFICIAL INTRODUCTORY COURSE FROM CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWHSIP  GIVEN ON THE ISLAND
OF OMETEPE

A little over a year ago, I had my first meeting with pastors from over 40
churches on the Island of Ometepe. In October of last year we gave
our first Introductory course in Santa Cruz.

A total of 25 students attended our first course.

Here I am teaching about the preparation and study of a Bible lesson
for children. We also teach many other topics, with the focus on evangelization.

Pastor Gustavo Ortiz is helping me with the preparation and teaching of the Bible
Memory verse.

The introductory course is just a quick over view of our more intense courses.
But its focus is to give vision to the Sunday School teachers in
the churches to move out of their churches
and reach the children in their communities.

SECOND OFFICIAL INTRODUCTORY COURSE GIVEN ON THE ISLAND
OF OMETEPE

Fund Raising

Just a Cup coffee buys locally grown, fair trade coffee beans from Nicaragua and sells the coffee in local markets to raise funds for our kids in feeding centre. Just one cup feeds a child.
Baking and apple sales, a fund raising dinner were organized this year, all assist to promote our work with the kids.

Every week 12-14 dozen butter tarts are prepared in preparation for coffee sales at our local market.

About the same amount of muffins are baked every week for those who prefers these to drink
with their coffee.

Not only muffins and butter tarts, but cookies are baked for selling.

Every other month my parents make a 2 hour trip to get over 100 pounds of coffee roasted.

These coffee beans are purchase as fare trade beans direct from Nicaragua.
